What is Vaping?

Vaping is the act of inhaling and exhaling the aerosol, often referred to as vapor, which is produced by an e-cigarette or similar device.

What is in Vape?

These devices typically contain nicotine (highly addictive), flavorings, and other chemicals.

However some vape devices contain other drugs suchas THC.

Vaping Nicotine

Nicotine is a highly addictive stimulant that speeds up the messages traveling between the brain and body.

Effects of nicotine can include:

  • dizziness,
  • mild stimulation,
  • increased heart rate,
  • reduced appetite,
  • abdominal cramps, and
  • temporary relaxation

Synthetic Nicotine

Synthetic nicotine is lab-made and marketed as "tobacco-free nicotine" by the vape industry.

Synthetic nicotine comes in e-liquid form and is used in vapes and e-cigarettes.

Other forms of consuming nicotine:

  • disposable vape pens
  • oral nicotine pouchesZyn, Velo, Lyft, Rogue

What is Nic-Sick?

The result of taking in too much nicotine that is a reported side effect after vaping or smoking since the concentration of nicotine in liquid products is higher than most other tobacco products

Within the first 15 minutes to an hour of vaping, symptoms would look like:

Nausea or Vomiting

Stomach or Loss of appetite

Increased heart rate or blood pressure

Mouth watering

Headache

Quick, heavy breathing

Dizziness or Tremors

Confusion or Anxiety

Pale Skin

Weakness, slow reflexes, or unable to control muscles

Extreme fatigue

Vaping & Addiction

Vaping can lead to nicotine addiction and increased risk for addiction to other drugs
